Our story

Following the same star since 2020.

Polar Star started from a simple idea: a sock has a job to do, and it should do it well. This is the road so far, and the course that never moved.

  1. It all starts in the cold.

    Chapter 01

It all starts in the cold.

A knitted jumper, a Nordic hat, a puffer jacket and a snowman. For me, the mountains are a great love story, and it starts right there.

  2. 2020, the first heading.

    Chapter 02

    2020, the first heading.

People often say: do what you love, and the rest will follow. In 2020 I start Polar Star with a first winter sock: cotton terry across the whole inside, heel to toe, to hold the warmth without smothering the foot.

  3. The brand grows on the ground.

    Chapter 03

The brand grows on the ground.

Christmas markets, village shops, concept stores: Polar Star becomes known among the people who sell face to face and give advice. Today more than 450 shops across Europe carry it.

  4. A new use, the same method.

    Chapter 04

A new use, the same method.

Then came the studio. In Pilates, a foot that slides one centimetre throws off the whole set. We ran the method again from the start, flaws first, and the Grip line was born: silicone grip across the whole sole and an arch band.

Why Polar Star

Not the brightest. The most reliable.

The pole star is only the 48th brightest star in the sky. Yet it is the one everyone looks for: it does one thing, show the north, and it does it to within less than a degree, night after night.

That is exactly how we design a sock. Not to get noticed, but to do its job: keep you warm all winter, grip the reformer, keep its shape wash after wash. A pair you can count on, the way you count on that star.

That is what Polar Star stands for: do one thing, and do it well.
